Hidalgo County, TX — February 24, 2024, Daniel Cadenas was injured in a hit-and-run car accident shortly before 9:00 a.m. along East Sioux Road.
According to authorities, 74-year-old Daniel Cadenas was traveling in an eastbound GMC Terrain SUV along East Sioux Road in the vicinity east of the North Raul Longoria Road intersection when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a westbound Dodge Charger occupied by a 44-year-old woman failed to maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left of center and entered the eastbound lane of the roadway. This resulted in a collision between the Charger and the SUV. The woman from the Charger reportedly fled the scene on foot, neglecting to render aid of any sort to the victim.
Cadenas incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
