How Did This Accident Occur?

Inattention could happen for several reasons. Most commonly, that means a driver was on their phone. People might be quick to assume that due to the driver’s age, but in my experience phones are a problem for all drivers these days. That’s why it’s just about the first thing I expect investigators to look into.

But there are other possible explanations. Maybe the driver spilled something. Perhaps there was some kind of emergency going on. These days, it could be that the driver was distracted by an overly complex entertainment system with a touch screen in the vehicle. Likely or not, it’s important to know the full story. Whether someone did something wrong or not, victims and families just tend to fare better when they know what did and what didn’t happen.
