Accident Report

Cross Roads, TX — July 26, 2026, Crystal De Luna was killed in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 9:50 p.m. on U.S. Highway 380.

Authorities said a 2021 Dodge pickup crashed into several other vehicles as it cross the east- and westbound lanes of the highway before leaving the road.

A passenger in one of those vehicles, 19-year-old Crystal Brianna De Luna, died after being transported to a Denton hospital, according to authorities. One other person was treated at the scene for minor injuries, while another was listed as possibly injured.

A 33-year-old High Point man told police he had been driving the pickup, authorities said. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter after he reportedly failed a field sobriety test.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Denton County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

I expect authorities to investigate this crash like any other fatality accident, but the probe should move beyond the scene if blood tests confirm the pickup driver was intoxicated. Investigators should try to figure out where he had been drinking before the crash.

That matters because alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused by a drunk driver if they served a patron who was obviously intoxicated before getting behind the wheel.

I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but the family of the passenger who died in this crash deserves to know everyone who may have played a role in it.

Do you know anything that could help with this investigation? Let me know in the comments.
