How Did This Accident Occur?

Could this crash have been avoided? We don’t know from the information that has been made public, illustrating why further investigation is needed.

What caused the Acura to become disabled? Could the driver have gotten it out of the road? How long was it there before the crash? Was the area well lit? Did the truck driver have enough time to avoid the collision, or was he fatigued or distracted? These questions should be considered by investigators as they work to reconstruct this accident.

Physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage should help in that effort, while cell phone records could show what the truck driver was doing at the time. A forensic examination of the vehicles should reveal what caused the Acura to break down, while determining if the truck had a mechanical issue that contributed to this crash.
