Harris County, TX — April 14, 2024, Coleen Okekshuk was injured as the result of a car accident at around 11:36 a.m. along the Gulf Freeway.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened near the intersection of the I-45 service road and Clear Lake City Boulevard.
According to officials, 59-year-old Coleen Okekshuk was in a Ford Escape going along the northbound Gulf Freeway service road. Somehow, the vehicle lost control and ran off-road. There, the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole.
Due to the accident, Coleen Okekshuk was seriously injured. There did not appear to be any other injuries. Additional details are unavailable.

One of the most common concerns I hear from folks is they think police aren’t giving their accident the attention it deserves. They want to know how I can tell when to trust authorities and when to bring more thorough independent investigations. Put simply, it’s about gauging how well authorities can address a family’s concerns. If they’re able to provide clear answers and alleviate doubt, that’s usually a sign they did good investigations. but if their responses leave gaps in the story or just aren’t adding up, that may be a sign that there should be more thorough investigations to see if something slipped through the cracks.
