Hardin County, TX — December 18, 2025, Cody Brown and one other were injured in a possible drunk driver accident around 8:30 p.m. along FM 770.
According to authorities, the crash took place southwest of Kountze, just off TX-326.
Investigators said that 26-year-old Cody Brown was in a Ford F-150 going westbound along the roadway. A Toyota Rav4 was going eastbound. That vehicle reportedly got on the wrong side of the road, and it collided with the Ford.
Both Cody Brown and the Toyota driver reportedly sustained serious injuries. Police said that the Toyota driver may have been drinking, but details are unconfirmed at this time.

If authorities confirm alcohol as a factor here, it may seem like that would make things open-and-shut. However, it would call for investigations into where the alcohol came from and if a negligent alcohol provider also contributed to the crash. Bars and other providers can be responsible if they unlawfully over-serve someone, and that intoxication leads to people getting hurt. It’s possible investigations will show nothing like that happened here. But if it did, those affected deserve to know all responsible parties will be held accountable.
