Johnson County, TX — June 23, 2024, Clea Taylor was injured as the result of a car accident at around 7:50 p.m. along County Road 1006.
Preliminary details released by officials say that the accident happened near the intersection of County Road 1006 and F.M. 917, just outside of Godley.
According to officials, 33-year-old Clea Taylor was in a Mercedes-Benz going northbound along C.R. 1006. The vehicle somehow ran off the side of the road where it then crashed into a tree. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Right now, the cause of the crash remains unspecified.

One concern with single-vehicle accidents like this is that if the driver was seriously injured, they may not have been able to tell their side of the story to the investigating officer. Officers tend to follow up later on, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. As a result, authorities may simply move on and draw conclusions based on incomplete information. It’s one of the reasons I talk a lot on this blog about the importance of making sure investigations are in the right hands. If authorities aren’t going to dedicate the time and effort needed to consider all possible contributing factors, there should be measures in place to catch what they might let slip through the cracks.
