Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

To be rather blunt, someone on the wrong side of the road is usually a sign that they’re extremely intoxicated. If that happened here, it would raise serious questions about where a teen driver got alcohol from and if a local business is out there serving people who are underage.

That said, alcohol is not the only reason this can happen. There could also be issues with signage or lighting, poor road design, someone going through a medical emergency, or just a young driver making a mistake in an area they’re not familiar with. The goal should never be to jump to conclusions or rush to blame someone. It’s important to focus on gathering clear evidence and letting the facts speak for themselves.
