It appears that the crash took place in the area of the US Highway 90 and Farm-to-Market 725 intersection west of Seguin.
Authorities say that 36-year-old Christina Medellin was in a Ford F-150 going northbound along FM 725. Another pickup was going eastbound on US 90. At the intersection, authorities say the second pickup ran the light, and it crashed into Christina Medellin.
Christina Medellin reportedly was seriously injured due to the crash. Authorities recommended charging the other driver for running the light.
How Did This Accident Occur?
This question may seem asked and answered, if the current reports are accurate. Authorities say someone ran a red light, and they recommended a charge. But running a red light might be more of a symptom than the actual problem. For example, was the driver on their phone? Was this a work truck rushing to meet an unreasonable deadline? Was the driver intoxicated? Generally speaking, people don’t just decide to run red lights. There was usually a problem that caused them to miss the light, and it’s important to address those issues if possible.
