Accident Report

April 15, 2026, a child sustained injuries following an accident where he fell from a window off Lincoln Street late Wednesday.

Initial reports on the accident say that it happened at the Lincoln Village Apartments. They’re located off the corner of Lincoln Street and Country Club Boulevard.

According to reports, a young boy, a 4-year-old, somehow fell through the screen of a window approximately 60 feet off the ground. The child reportedly landed on mulch-covered ground and was injured. The child was said to be in stable condition following transport to a hospital.

At this time, additional details about the accident are unavailable pending investigations.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s possible this was just a freak occurrence, but I always caution folks against making that assumption before there’s been a proper inspection. There may have been issues created by residents in the apartment, or this could be related to maintenance issues the apartment management failed to address. The key is to gather and preserve evidence as early as possible. Evidence can deteriorate over time—naturally and unnaturally.

For example, I had a case a while back involving a child falling out of an apartment. Right after we got the case, we sent investigators to inspect and photograph the scene. It just so happened that the investigators caught the property owners “fixing” a key piece of evidence on the property in an attempt to cover their tracks. Had the family waited just a day later to seek out answers, that evidence may never have seen the light of day.

Again, I can’t say what led to this accident. But when it comes to ensuring there is appropriate accountability for any mistakes, and when it comes to simply getting folks the answers they deserve, time is of the essence.
