How Did This Accident Occur?
One-vehicle crashes like this deserve the same scrutiny as any other accident. It would be easy to assume this crash was the result of rider error, but I’ve been part of enough accident investigations in my career to know that assumptions should not be the basis for any conclusions. The investigation should be based on facts, not guesswork.
Investigators will piece together what caused this crash by going over physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage, but they should also seek an in-depth inspection of the motorcycle to determine if a mechanical issue or manufacturer’s defect contributed to this accident.
The investigation should give the motorcyclist’s family a clear picture of what happened on Pines Road.
