Abilene, TX — December 21, 2023, Charles William Ferrell was killed and one person was hurt after a car accident at around 7:30 p.m. on East Highway 80.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened near the intersection of Highway 80 and Judge Ely Boulevard.
Details from police say that 68-year-old Charles William Ferrell was a passenger in a Chevy Camaro said to be going eastbound on the highway. The vehicle apparently lost control and went across the median and over oncoming lanes. After this, the car then crashed into a pole.
Authorities say that Ferrell died due to the crash. The driver, unidentified at this time, was taken from the scene with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Right now, authorities mentioned looking into speed and alcohol as possible contributing factors, but nothing can be confirmed right now.
