Accident Report

Grimes County, TX — August 30, 2026, Charles Kiel was killed and two other people were injured in a car accident at about 11:15 p.m. on State Highway 30.

Authorities said a westbound pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 1972 Dodge Polara. A westbound motorcycle subsequently crashed into the disabled Dodge near F.M. 244.

Dodge driver Charles Keil, 59 of Willis was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash west of Roans Prairie, according to authorities.

The pickup driver and the motorcyclist were hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Grimes County crash at this time.
