Accident Report
April 4, 2026, Charlandria Edwards and one other were injured after a car accident around 4:25 a.m. along I-35E.
Investigators said that the accident happened in the area of Red Oak Road south of Dallas. It appears that 24-year-old Charlandria Edwards was in a Toyota Camry going southbound on I-35E. A Ford E Series was going the same direction. It appears that another vehicle failed to control speed and crashed with the others. That vehicle then fled the scene.
Due to the accident, Charlandria Edwards sustained serious injuries. A passenger from the Ford had moderate injuries. It’s unclear if authorities located the runaway driver.
How Did This Accident Occur?
A vehicle failing to control speed this early in the morning is often a sign the driver was fatigued or on their phone. But since that driver allegedly left the scene, alcohol is a big concern. I see a lot of accidents where drivers flee because they’re more worried about getting in trouble for drunk driving than for a hit-and-run. So, if authorities can identify and speak to that driver, they may be able to retrace that person’s steps and find out if they had been drinking. If that hasn’t already happened, can authorities release more information to the public? Someone might be able to connect dots and identify the suspect so there can finally be some appropriate consequences here.
