Orangeburg County, SC — October 23, 2024, A person was killed following a cement truck accident on I-26 just north of Bowman.
Details from authorities are still emerging from the ongoing investigation into what caused a fatal accident between a cement truck and Mercedes on Wednesday afternoon.
At this time, authorities report that both vehicles were travelling in the same direction in the eastbound lanes of I-26 a few miles outside of Bowman.
For reasons that are not yet confirmed, these two vehicles collided resulting in a serious accident that lead to the hospitalization of the Mercedes driver where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the Mercedes driver has not been released by the South Carolina Highway Patrol which is handling the investigation.
