Accident Report

Bushland, TX — March 24, 2026, Cathy Erickson was killed and Sheri Centner and one other person were injured in a truck accident at about 8:30 a.m. on Simmons Road.

Authorities said a semi-truck collided with a pickup as it pulled onto Simmons from the Interstate 40 frontage road.

Pickup driver Cathy Lynn Erickson, 71, of Bushland died from injuries suffered in the crash, while her passenger, 69-year-old Colorado resident Sheria Ann Centner, was flown to an area hospital in critical condition, according to authorities. Their names have not been made public yet.

The truck driver, a 41-year-old Dumas resident, was hospitalized with critical injuries after the crash, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Potter County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
