Crash investigations can be challenging enough without the vehicles involved being large trucks. This can create other significant challenges that require investigations to be thorough and in-depth, more so than what authorities tend to offer.
Did the truck experience mechanical issues? Were the drivers working at the time? Did they have a company that demanded unreasonable hours? Was the truck owned by a company that failed to maintain their vehicles? Did something like a medical condition contribute to the crash? Were there issues with the roadway itself? Likely or not, it’s important not to let anything slip through the cracks, even if it’s just to rule out those possibilities. Have authorities taken those steps here?
