Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Looking at this stretch of road, it seems to be a relatively narrow neighborhood road with minimal lighting. I can’t help wondering if it was safe to park a large pickup with a trailer on this stretch of road. That may not have played a role at all in what happened here, but folks often don’t consider that even a parked, unoccupied vehicle can contribute to an accident. If nothing else, it’s something that authorities should have been able to rule out. It’s not clear right now if they ever did that.
