Harris County, TX — July 11, 2024, a woman was injured as the result of a car accident at around 11:00 a.m. along Westheimer Road.
According to officials, the crash took place along westbound lanes of Westheimer near Hayes Road.
Investigators said that a 20-year-old woman was in a Nissan Xterra going westbound in the outside lane. In events not entirely clear, the Nissan crashed into the back of a bus. The woman in the Nissan was seriously injured.
There were no other reported injuries. Additional details are unavailable.

People tend to jump to conclusions with rear-end collisions. They just assume the rear driver did something wrong. But there are all kinds of reasons a crash like this can happen. Road hazards, vehicle defects, malfunctioning crash avoidance systems, lighting or signage issues, medical events, etc. Likely or not, it’s important all possible factors get attention.
