Accident Report
March 10, 2026, two minors children were injured due to a car accident shortly before 7:30 a.m. along Ware Road (F.M. 2220).
According to authorities, four people—a 36-year-old woman and four girls ages one, seven, and eight—were traveling in a northbound Buick Encore on Ware Road at the Nolana Avenue intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a southbound Nissan Murano occupied by a 25-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy attempted a left turn onto Nolana at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic at a left turn. A collision consequently occurred between the front-end of the Murano and the front-end of the Encore.
The five-year-old who had been in the Murano reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. The seven-year-old from the Encore suffered minor injuries, as well, according to reports. It does not appear that anyone else was hurt. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
At first glance, this accident seems like a cut and dried case of driver error. However, I’ve been analyzing car accidents for over three decades. I’ve seen cases that seem one way on the surface, but evidence unearthed during the investigation shows that there were other issues at play. That’s why I’d advise others to had a little patience and wait until authorities finish their investigation and make their findings public.
To be clear, I don’t know more than anyone else outside of the investigation about this specific accident. I’ve just seen a lot of things over the years; just because something is likely does not make it a guarantee. I’ll illustrate with a little hypothetical: A quick search on Google Maps will tell you that this intersection is controlled by a traffic signal. Was it working correctly at the time of the accident? Is it not possible that both vehicles were given a green light? Traffic lights are excellent tools, but they are not infallible.
Hopefully the authorities are gathering digital evidence—dash cam footage, security camera footage, et cetera—that can either rule out that conclusion or expose it. If, for any reason, it seems like the authorities investigation is lacking, a third party investigation can also look into things. After all, the people affected by this accident deserve to have the whole picture with the facts to back it, not just assumptions convenient only to those looking to close the case quickly.
