Fannin County, TX — December 22, 2023, three people were injured as the result of a car accident at around 9:50 p.m. along Highway 121.
Authorities said in preliminary statements on the crash that it happened off the corner of Highway 121 and County Road 4540.
According to officials, a 38-year-old Whitewright woman and an 11-year-old were in a Ford Escape going northbound on the highway. The Ford slowed to make a left turn, but a Kia Sedona reportedly failed to control speed and crashed into the back of the Ford.
Due to the collision, the Whitewright woman and the child in the Ford had apparently serious injuries. The driver of the Kia was injured, as well. Authorities allege that the driver of the Kia was under the influence of alcohol and recommended multiple charges. No further information can be confirmed right now.
