How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s not clear what exactly authorities believe happened here, but they said it’s possible the pickup driver did something wrong. That may have been due to something common, such as distracted driving, fatigue, unsafe speeds, etc. However, it’s always important to consider all possible factors. Even something seemingly unlikely, such as a vehicle defect, should at least be ruled out. At best, that can ensure that crucial evidence comes to light. At worst, it helps to rule out other explanations that might just muddy the waters when it comes time to hold someone responsible for the crash. If authorities have focused their efforts on doing that, that would be good to hear. If that required more thorough independent investigations, though, it wouldn’t be all that unusual.
