Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

After any serious car accident, it’s important to consider some key questions early on:

  1. Are authorities dedicating enough time and resources to the crash?
  2. Have the vehicles been inspected for potential defects?
  3. Is all electronic evidence being preserved?

In my experience, these questions can help show families when authorities are treating their situation as a low priority. If they’re satisfied with the answers authorities come up with, that’s generally a good sign the investigations are being handled well. Otherwise, if answers fall short, steps can be taken to have independent investigators pick up the slack.
