San Benito, TX — November 10, 2023, one person was injured in a car accident just before 9:30 p.m. along Sam Houston Boulevard.
According to reports, a 49-year-old man was in a northeast-facing Ford Ranger in the center lane of Sam Houston Boulevard attempting to make a left turn onto Ballenger Street when the accident occurred.
For reasons yet to be confirmed, the Ford Ranger made an unsafe turn resulting in a collision with a Dodge Avenger which had been traveling in the southwest bound lanes of Sam Houston Boulevard. The 19-year-old man who had been the sole occupant of the Avenger sustained reportedly severe injuries as a result of the collision; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly rainy and wet. No additional information is currently available pertaining to this incident.
