According to reports, a 41-year-old woman was traveling in a northbound Chevy Suburban along Pue Road approaching the U.S. 90 access road intersection when the accident took place.
Preliminary reports indicate that, for as yet unconfirmed reasons, the Suburban did not make a turn at the intersection; rather, it continued north across the access road, driving through the grassy median and into the southbound lanes of West Loop 1604 where it collided with a concrete barrier. The woman—who had been the sole occupant of the Suburban—incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the incident. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
