San Antonio, TX — December 10, 2023, two people were injured in a car accident at approximately 11:30 p.m. along New Braunfels Avenue.
According to authorities, a pickup truck which had been traveling in the vicinity of the New Braunfels Avenue and Burleson Street intersection experienced front-left tire failure.

Because the tire blew out, the pickup swerved across the center of the road and into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with an SUV. The driver of the truck and the child accompanying him allegedly fled the scene before the arrival of first responders. Two people were entrapped in the SUV and had to by extricated by emergency workers. They were transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment for the injuries incurred during the accident.
Authorities state that because the accident was caused by tire failure, the driver of the pickup truck will not be charged. Weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not reported on. Additional details—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time.
