Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

When people see a crash with one driver being blamed for what appears to be an obvious mistake, they tend to assume the crash is open-and-shut. At the end of the day, though, there is more that just citations and charges when it comes to getting people the help they need after a crash. That path generally travels through insurance adjusters who have one job: avoid as much responsibility as possible.

In my experience, the people with the most evidence telling their side of the story as possible are the ones who fare best. Relying solely on preliminary reports like these without ensuring there’s a more thorough accident reconstruction can be a big mistake.
