San Antonio, TX — July 23, 2024, one person was injured in a car accident at about 3:55 a.m. in the 1500 block of Bandera Road.
Authorities said a 2005 Jeep was headed west on Bandera Road when it crashed into the traffic light pole at the intersection with Hillcrest Drive for an unknown reason.
A 46-year-old man who had been a passenger in the car suffered suspected serious injuries in the crash, according to authorities.
The man, whose name has not been made public, said the driver of the Jeep fled after the crash, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the crash.

Were there any witnesses or security cameras that captured the crash or the driver fleeing? Was the vehicle swerving or speeding before impact? Understanding these details is crucial to reconstructing the sequence of events.
Second, has anyone considered whether a vehicle defect played a role? Single-vehicle crashes often lead to assumptions about driver error, but mechanical failures can’t be ruled out without a forensic examination.
