Harris County, TX — October 6, 2025, two people were injured as the result of a car accident at around 3:05 a.m. along the Sam Houston Tollway.

Preliminary details released about the accident say that the crash happened in the area of Wilson Road along eastbound lanes of the Tollway.

According to officials, three women were in a Kia Optima going eastbound on Sam Houston. Possibly due to an animal in the road, authorities say the vehicle lost control, left its lane, and crashed into an impact attenuator.

Due to the accident, one of the women in the car was seriously injured while another reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries. Additional details about the crash are unavailable.

I always talk about how all accidents are serious, but if police think an animal caused the crash, what more could there possibly be to talk about? Well, even then, it’s important to be thorough.

For example, why was only one person here seriously injured? Sometimes, it’s just the nature of what part of the car hit where. Sometimes, though, that can be a sign of faulty safety features. A seatbelt breaking or failing to lock, an airbag not going off, entire seat assemblies coming loose—these can result in serious injuries which otherwise could have been minor or avoided entirely.

Is that something investigators looked into here?
