According to official reports, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling on Hwy. 86 near Brawley Ave. when for unknown reasons the vehicle lost control and struck a guardrail before overturning.
When first responders arrived on the scene they found that a baby had been ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries along with a passenger, and they were transported to the hospital for treatment where the baby later was pronounced deceased. At this time it remains unknown what caused the vehicle to lose control as well as the status of the passenger, however this remains an ongoing investigation and more details may be released by authorities in the future.
