How Did This Accident Occur?
At an intersection like this, a crash is often the result of inattention or distracted driving. That could involve anything from a cellphone to something falling in the floorboards to just plain impatience. But it’s always important investigations are thorough enough to consider all possible factors.
For example, is there any issue with signage at this intersection? Is it missing? Knocked over from a prior accident? Covered up by trees the city or a homeowner needs to tend to? Obstructed, damaged, and missing traffic signs can easily lead to a crash, and I’ve seen plenty of examples where authorities overlooked that because they were more focused on trying to blame one of the drivers.
At the end of the day, the evidence is what tells the story. It’s up to investigations to gather as much of that evidence as possible, even if some details might seem insignificant at first.
