Port Arthur, TX — November 23, 2024, one person was injured in a car accident at about 5:10 p.m. on Jefferson Drive/Stadium Road.
Authorities said a 2011 Chevrolet Impala failed to yield while attempting a left turn onto Lewis Drive. It crashed into a 2017 Toyota Avalon.
A 20-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Toyota suffered suspected serious injuries in the Jefferson County crash, according to authorities. Her name has not been made public.
No other injuries were reported.

Reports indicate that a Chevrolet Impala failed to yield while turning left and collided with a Toyota Avalon, but that alone doesn’t explain why it happened. Were there visibility issues at the intersection? Was traffic congestion a factor? Did investigators gather witness statements, check for surveillance footage and conduct a proper accident reconstruction? A complete investigation should explore all possible contributing factors rather than relying on surface-level explanations.
The next question is whether anyone has considered the possibility of a vehicle defect.
