Polk County, TX — January 20, 2024, four people were injured following a car accident at around 3:00 p.m. along U.S. Highway 190.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash took place along the eastbound lanes of the highway near the intersection of U.S. 190 and F.M. 1276, several miles east of Livingston.

According to officials, a Ford Expedition was going eastbound along U.S. 190 while a Chevy Equinox was going along westbound lanes. Each vehicle had two occupants. Authorities say that the Chevy went to the left across the center line, and it crashed head-on with the Ford.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Chevy had apparently serious injuries. The two people in the Ford and the other person in the Chevy had less serious injuries, authorities said. Right now, authorities say alcohol was a factor in the crash. This and other details can’t be confirmed at this time.
