Bexar County, TX — November 15, 2025, five people were injured due to a car accident at approximately 10:45 p.m. along Perrin Beitel (F.M. 2252).

According to authorities, five people were traveling in a westbound Dodge Grand Caravan minivan on the Connally Loop frontage road at the Perrin Beitel intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a southbound GMC Sierra pickup truck entered the intersection against a red light. A collision consequently occurred between the front-end of the pickup truck and the right side of the minivan.

A 31-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the minivan reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the wreck. The other four people in the van suffered minor injuries, as well, according to reports.

Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

After crashes that leave several people hurt, early reports often settle on a single traffic violation. But when injuries are serious and multiple occupants are involved, the more important issue is whether investigators looked carefully at everything that happened before the impact.

Was the crash thoroughly investigated?
In an intersection collision where one vehicle is said to have entered against a red light, a proper investigation should go beyond that initial conclusion. Investigators should examine how both vehicles approached the intersection, the timing of the signal phases, and what each driver was doing in the moments before the crash. That can include mapping vehicle paths, reviewing damage patterns, and analyzing whether braking or steering occurred before impact. The depth of this work often depends on the training and experience of the responding officers. Some are skilled in reconstructing complex intersection crashes, while others may rely on quick assessments. In crashes involving serious injuries, that difference matters.

Has anyone looked into a possible vehicle defect?
Even when a traffic signal violation is alleged, vehicle condition should not be overlooked. Brake performance, throttle response, and steering function on both vehicles deserve close review. Modern vehicles rely on electronic systems that can affect acceleration, braking, and driver response. If a system failed or did not operate as intended, that may not be obvious without a detailed mechanical inspection. Mechanical issues can exist alongside driver error and still play a role in how a collision unfolds.

Was all available electronic data collected?
Electronic data can help clarify what really happened leading up to the crash. Vehicle systems may record speed, braking input, and steering activity in the seconds before impact. Phone data can help determine whether distraction was a factor, and nearby cameras may help confirm timing and vehicle movement through the intersection. This information is time-sensitive. If it is not preserved early, it can be lost, leaving important questions unanswered.

When a crash leaves multiple people injured, careful questions matter. A thorough investigation, close inspection of both vehicles, and full collection of electronic data help move the case beyond assumptions and toward a clearer understanding of how the collision occurred.

Key Takeaways:

  • Intersection crashes require careful review beyond an initial signal violation.
  • Vehicle or system issues should still be ruled out through inspection.
  • Electronic data can clarify driver actions just before impact.
