McLendon-Chisholm, TX — December 25, 2023, two people were injured in a car accident shortly after 8:30 p.m. along Farm to Market 550.
According to reports, two men—both age 35—were traveling in a southeast bound Dodge Avenger on F.M. 550 approaching the Smith Road intersection when the incident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Avenger allegedly failed to control its speed. At a left-hand curve in the road, the vehicle reportedly veered off of the right side of the roadway where it struck a mailbox before continuing in a southeast direction. It then struck a bar ditch which caused the Avenger to go into a roll. It came to a stop resting on its wheels.
The passenger of the vehicle reportedly incurred moderate injuries, while the other occupant sustained suspected severe injuries. Both men were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
