Initial statements about the accident from authorities say that the crash took place just off McArdle Road and Weber Road.

It appears that a 29-year-old man was in a Nissan Altima going westbound. A 28-year-old woman was driving a southbound Chrysler. The vehicles crossed paths at the intersection and collided, along with a Chevy Silverado.

Due to the crash, the Nissan driver reportedly had serious injuries. A 28-year-old man from the Chrysler had moderate injuries, and a child in the vehicle had possibly minor injuries. No other injuries were confirmed.

How Did This Accident Occur?

A crash at a traffic light is usually the result of someone being on their phone or recklessly trying to beat a light. It’s always possible there could be extenuating circumstances. Vehicle defects, malfunctioning traffic lights, drunk driving, a medical emergency—I’ve seen just about anything you could think of lead to a crash.

That’s why it’s important that victims and families are confident these other possible factors are at least being ruled out. A lot of the time, authorities will only touch on the most obvious, common factors and call it a day. This allows evidence to slip through the cracks, especially if it’s something time-sensitive or complex, like video footage, vehicle inspections, or debris analysis.

If authorities can show they’re taking the accident seriously and considering all angles, that’s good. Maybe they’ve been doing that here. In my experience, though, it’s best not to take that for granted. I’ve found that victims and families who follow up with authorities and demand clear answers tend to have a better time finding out what next steps are best for them.
