Lufkin, TX — December 9, 2024, two people were injured due to a car accident that happened at around 2:12 a.m. along Mantooth Avenue.
Preliminary details about the accident say that it happened along the 1100 block of Mantooth Avenue, just off Bynum Street and Frank Avenue.
According to officials, a vehicle going along the roadway lost control and ran off-road. There, the vehicle ultimately crashed into a tree outside of a residence. Due to the collision, two people from the vehicle sustained unspecified injuries.

Current details about this crash, like many I come across, are best taken a few grains of salt. The reality is authorities rarely come out with the whole story publicly. In fact, I’ve had plenty of folks come to me with crashes where authorities ended up moving on without really getting the whole story. Sometimes, they don’t have the time. Other times, officers don’t have the right training or equipment. In the end, it’s the victims and families who can be left out in the wind if steps aren’t taken to ensure someone is getting all the facts. So whatever happened here, it’s not likely that full story will come to light without more thorough independent investigations.
