How Did This Accident Occur?

When two vehicles going opposite directions on a divided roadway crash, it usually means a vehicle was on the wrong side of the road. That can raise serious red flags, as that’s almost always the result of intoxicated driving. If someone was on their way home after being recklessly over-served by a bar, it’s entirely possible they mistakenly went up an exit ramp in their intoxicated state, leading to the crash.

However, that’s not the only possible explanation. Sometimes, a medical condition can create those same conditions. It’s also possible confusing signage or a lack of signage and lighting can lead to someone accidentally getting on the wrong side of the road. Likely or not, I’ve seen it happen before, so it’s important to investigate before jumping to any conclusions.
