Kimble County, TX — December 26, 2023, a teenager was injured in a car accident just after 3:00 in the afternoon along Farm to Market 2169.
According to reports, a 31-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were traveling in a northbound GMC Sierra pickup truck on F.M. 2169 a little more than a quarter of a mile north of U.S. 377 when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unconfirmed reasons, the pickup failed to slow enough to safely navigate a section of the road where it curves to the northwest. As a result, the vehicle veered off of the right side of the road, went into a skid, collided with a rock wall, and finally came to a stop after striking a tree.
The 31-year-old man reportedly left the scene on foot but was later apprehended. The 15-year-old—who was allegedly entrapped in the wreckage—incurred suspected severe injuries due to the accident; after being extracted from the vehicle he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
Authorities recommend charges of failure to stop and render aid in a collision involving serious bodily injury against the 31-year-old who fled the scene of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are currently unavailable. The investigation is ongoing.
