How Did This Accident Occur?

When people see a single-vehicle accident this early in the morning, they may assume the driver just fell asleep at the wheel. That’s pretty common, but it’s important to consider other possibilities. And that’s not just common things, like distracted driving or alcohol, but also unlikely possibilities.

Did the vehicle have a defect? Did the driver experience a medical emergency? Was there something in the road? Did a tire blowout? If authorities can show they took the time and effort to rule all of this out, that would be good to see. It’s just not the sort of thing I’d take for granted without seeing clear evidence.
