Accident Report

June 23, 2026, two people were injured due to a car accident shortly after 12:45 a.m. along Interstate Highway 37.

According to authorities, to men—a 20-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger—were traveling in an eastbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on I-37 at Corn Products Road when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Ram became disabled in an active lane of traffic. The Ram was subsequently rear-ended by an eastbound Ford F-450.

Both the driver and the passenger from the Ram reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the wreck. It does not appear that anyone from the Ford was hurt. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Having been in this line of work for over thirty years, I’m sure the question any investigation worth its salt will be asking in this case is why the Dodge became disabled in the first place? Was it experiencing engine failure? Was there something wrong with the throttle? And then there is the question of why the Ford failed to avoid a collision with the back of the Dodge? Beyond the factor of human error, could something like brake failure or steering mechanism issues been at play?

Hopefully investigators—whether the authorities or, if need be, a third party—get in-depth inspections done on both the Dodge and the Ford. That is what will be able to bring to light any mechanical malfunctions or product defects that had a hand in the accident which might otherwise have flown unnoticed under the radar. After all, when everything is said and done, the people affected by this accident deserve to be given a clear and detailed understanding as to how and why it occurred. That kind of clarity simply can’t be provided by surface-level investigation.
