According to officials, a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were in a Chevy Camaro traveling along R.M. 687. While doing so, the vehicle apparently left its lane, causing the vehicle to crash. As a result, both the man and the woman in the car had reportedly serious injuries.

People are often quick to jump to conclusions following single-vehicle wrecks. They figure since a lot of them involve drivers making mistakes that they’re open-and-shut. However, this kind of thinking can lead to important details slipping through the cracks. That’s why it can be a problem if authorities see a crash like this as simple without considering other possible explanations.
Were there issues with the roadway? Did a tire blowout? Does the vehicle have a defect? Did a medical condition lead to the crash? Was the driver unlawfully over-served by a negligent alcohol provider? Was there another reckless driver involved who left the scene? Is the road missing signage or lighting?
Likely or not, these are factors worth considering. I generally expect independent accident reconstructionists to provide answers to these kinds of questions, but relying solely on the authorities can be little more than a roll of the dice. That’s why it’s sometimes prudent for victims and families to consider having a second set of eyes on a crash like this to ensure nothing important is overlooked or brushed aside without a proper examination.
