Houston, TX — November 12, 2024, a man was killed in a car accident at about 6 p.m. on Synott Road in Alief.
Authorities said the man, 91, was trying to walk across the poorly lit road when he was struck by a Kia Rio. The pedestrian was not using a crosswalk.
The man, who has not been identified by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
The driver of the Kia reportedly was questioned by police and released. There was no indication alcohol played a part in the crash.
The driver, who was traveling northbound on Synott after crossing Bellaire Boulevard, said he did not see the pedestrian before the crash, according to authorities.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
