Houston, TX — April 9, 2024, two people were injured following a car accident at approximately 8:15 p.m. along East Freeway.
According to authorities, two police officers were parked in a patrol car with lights activated in order to divert traffic due to a stalled 18-wheeler on East Freeway near Federal Road when the accident took place.
The causal factors that led to the accident are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the patrol vehicle was rear-ended by an eastbound motor vehicle. Both officers were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment for injuries incurred due to the wreck. No other injuries have been reported.
