Gregg County, TX — November 22, 2023, one person was injured in a car accident at approximately 12:20 in the morning along State Highway 135.
According to reports, a 41-year-old woman was traveling in a southbound FJ Cruiser along S.H. 135 just south of the Glendale Street intersection when the accident occurred.
For reasons yet to be confirmed, the Cruiser veered left out of the southbound lanes, crossed all of the northbound lanes, left the roadway completely and collided with a mailbox and a sign. It continued on, striking a fence, a tree, a metal building support beam, a parked ATV, and several lawnmowers and tillers before finally coming to a stop. After the accident, the woman allegedly fled the scene; however, she was apprehended not long after leaving. She incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident and was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment.
The accident is under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly clear and dry. Additional details—including the identity of the person involved—are not available at this point in time.
