When it comes to multi-vehicle accidents, there’s always an important question to consider: are authorities able to handle the investigations? People generally assume authorities go to great lengths to preserve evidence and consider all possible factors. In reality, they’re not always equipped to handle complex accidents involving multiple vehicles.
Sometimes departments lack the funding for proper equipment, or sometimes they pull officers to other responsibilities too soon, leaving the investigations incomplete. Simply put, if victims and families are left with doubts and unanswered questions, it only serves to further harm them. That’s why there is often a need for more thorough independent investigations following accidents like this. It wouldn’t be unusual if the same were true here, as well.
