Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it’s true a driver did or at least attempted to flee this accident scene, then that would obviously warrant consequences. The question, though, is why they did so. In my experience, drivers rarely flee accident scenes just out of panic. There is often something they don’t want police finding out about. Drugs, warrants, drunk driving—it could be that more thorough investigations will show there’s more to this accident than initial reports suggest.
