Accident Report

May 30, 2026, seven people were injured following a car accident at around 8:50 a.m. along Farm-to-Market 722.

According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of FM 722 and Middlewell Road, southwest of Dumas.

It appears that a woman, a man, and four teenagers were in a GMC Acadia going eastbound on FM 722. A Chevy Silverado was going southbound. Authorities say that the Silverado ran the stop sign, and the vehicles collided.

Due to the crash, a 17-year-old from the GMC was seriously injured. All other injuries were apparently less serious. Authorities recommended a charge for the Silverado driver.

How Did This Accident Occur?

This may seem asked and answered, considering authorities have blamed a driver for going through a stop sign. It’s important, though, to have the full story. There could be vastly different paths for a family to take when distraction causes a crash like this, for example, versus something like alcohol or issues with road design or visibility at the intersection. If investigators are too hasty or flippant in their efforts, important evidence can slip through the cracks. Treating the crash as serious even when details seem straight-forward helps ensure victims and families have as solid a story as possible going forward. In my experience, that’s how people tend to get the best resolutions possible following a car accident.
