Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
As open-and-shut as these details may seem, I learned a long time ago that there really are no “simple” accidents. Some attorneys never learn that lesson until they find themselves up against an insurance company that’s taking them to task because they never bothered analyzing the crash scene, securing electronic data, verifying witness testimony, or canvassing the area for video cameras. Even when police say someone ran a light, that alone may not be enough to reach a just resolution for the victims and families involved. That takes serious investigations and a solid foundation of evidence. The earlier that happens, the better the chances are for a proper conclusion.
