Accident Report

July 20, 2026, three people were injured following a car accident that took place around 4:29 a.m. along Farm-to-Market 1258.

According to officials, the crash happened a few miles south of Amarillo along FM 1258. It appears that three vehicles were going southbound along the roadway at the time. Authorities believe a wild animal entered the road, resulting in a chain-reaction crash between the three vehicles.

Due to the accident, a 24-year-old woman riding in a Ford F-150 was seriously injured. The woman driving the F-150 had moderate injuries, as did the driver of a Jeep Cherokee.

No further information is available at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Obviously, authorities believe an animal set all of this into motion. That could make everything seem open-and-shut. It wouldn’t surprise me if authorities simply moved on after clearing the scene, but hopefully they were still thorough examining evidence from the victims’ vehicles. Even if no one directly caused the accident, it’s important to always keep an eye out for possible vehicle defects. For example, if someone’s seatbelt fails to work properly, they could end up with injuries that a functional seatbelt would have prevented. Likely or not, people deserve to know all factors have at least been ruled out. Did that ever happen here?

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever experienced some sort of vehicle defect.
